Why Choose the 22 Momme Envelope Silk Pillowcase?
- Natural Anti-Aging Benefits Crafted from 100% Grade 6A Mulberry Silk, our 22 Momme fabric contains 18 essential amino acids that help retain skin moisture and reduce friction-induced sleep creases.
- Hair Health and Frizz Prevention The ultra-smooth surface allows hair to glide without resistance, significantly reducing breakage, split ends, and morning frizz compared to traditional cotton.
- A Design Built for Comfort, Not Cost While zippers are cheaper and easier to manufacture, we chose a deep-pocket envelope closure. This design requires 30% more silk fabric to create, but we believe the result—a seamless, all-silk surface with no cold metal contact or zipper breakage—is well worth the investment for your sleep quality.
- Dermatologist-Approved & Hypoallergenic Naturally temperature-regulating and OEKO-TEX® certified. It provides a breathable, clean sleep environment that is ideal for sensitive skin and those prone to night sweats.
- Engineered for Durability Our high-density 22 Momme weave is specifically optimized for longevity. It remains resilient and retains its signature pearlescent luster even after repeated machine washing.

I already owned a few silk pillowcases (from the "Feeling Pampered" company, purchased from Amazon)-they were reasonably priced and I've loved them so far- so I was already aware that silk pillowcases are awesome. I didn't try purchasing a Ohmysilk pillowcase until recently because they only had a few basic colors available for a long time, which I thought was boring. However, once I saw that they'd added a bunch of pretty colors, I figured I'd try this brand out. I already own/use the Ohmysilk silk washcloths (which are amazing, BTW!), so I was pretty sure the pillowcase would be good as well.
Well, I must say, this pillowcase beats the silk pillowcases I purchased from the other brand, in spades! Not only was it a little cheaper (which is always nice!), but the fabric itself is WAAAAYYYY softer and smoother, with sort of a satin-like shininess to it. The material is also a little thicker, with a little more weight to it (my other silk pillowcases are a bit on the thin, flimsy side), which I personally prefer. I purchased the Pink color and let me tell you, it is the most beautiful shade of pink ever, a lovely soft, soothing shade of pink.
I've already washed it once (I machine washed in warm water using Woolite and hung it up to dry) and it came out looking good as new and feeling just as smooth and silky as ever. I wish I hadn't purchased the 3 other silk pillowcases from the other company, because these are FAR superior in just about every way possible. I will definitely be purchasing more of the Ohmysilk cases if/when I need another one (in fact I'm purchasing another one now because they're awesome, and my other flimsy silk cases feel like they're on the verge of crapping out on me, which sucks because I haven't had them that long). SOOOO happy with my purchase, highly highly recommend this pillowcase to anyone looking for a beautiful and affordable silk pillowcase!
I was not a believer when I first compared this pillowcase to its satin contemporaries: How can it be real silk, at such a great price AND be machine washable? I was exceedingly skeptical. But, the bargain hunter in me said "Why settle for the imitation when you can get the real thing at nearly the same price?". I purchased, and happily, I was not disappointed.
My reasons for wanting a new pillowcase were twofold:
First, I have always had dry, sensitive skin, and had been instructed by my dermatologist to keep my skin moisturized. Plain old cotton just wasn't cutting it in that regard.
Secondly, I had recently begun wearing my hair in its naturally kinky-curly state, and began looking for ways to optimize hair retention. As curly hair is naturally the driest hair texture, I knew I couldn't stick with cotton if I wanted to protect my tresses...PLUS my old pillowcases totally frizzed up my curls, EEEK!
My search for a satin pillowcase led me to this Holy Grail of moisture retention! Some of the main plusses: it's a natural material; it doesn't have a pesky zipper, but has an envelope closure that slips over the pillow comfortably and holds confidently, and it doesn't get hot either. I live in a humid climate, and I was worried that it might get unbearably warm, but it only got as warm as any other pillowcase I've slept on, and, if I wake up at night, I can just flip it, and its nice and cool. I've washed it, and so far, I haven't noticed any change in the fabric.
After a hard day, the silky smoothness of this pillowcase beckons me to lie down and be soothed, and when I awaken, I don't have that unsightly crushed pillowface that we all dread!
At this price, do yourself a favor and get two!
For years I was sleeping with a satin pillowcase as the silk ones were way too expensive…or so I thought! Truth be told I did not think there was an actual difference ! Boy oh boy was I wrong! I found this 2 pack & I am beyond thrilled with the quality! The softness is unmatched! The envelope closure is so easy to use! I ordered the pink color & it is beautiful!! Highly recommend especially if you are prone to getting hot during the night, this pillowcase is a dream!!
Very soft and high quality. Wash weekly for several months and no sign of wear.
We love it,very pretty and comfortable
Love this silk pillow cover!!! my daughter does too.I got it for her as a Christmas gift for her body pillow. It came in great shape and the color is so adorable and accurate to the picture. It feels silky to the touch and is very soft on the skin… the opening has an envelope closure and is large enough to easily remove and wash if needed. The material is high-quality, thicker and looks like it’ll be easy to get stains out and launder as needed. It’s a great addition to any Hello Kitty loving bedroom!!!
Very nice quality, but very speedy relative to other silk pillowcases I've just recently purchased.
This is a wonderful product, so so soft and the color is Exactley as shown. Occasionally does snag on my earrings but that’s a personal thing. Good value overall
Wow! I’ve tried out a few “silk” pillowcases from Amazon (including Blissey), and Ohmysilk ones are the winner. I even bought a second one a few days later because of how much I liked it!
First they are REAL SILK (I actually burned a few threads to make sure). Second, the momme count feels pretty accurate. The ones I had been sleeping on were 19momme (Promeed brand) and these feel even softer. I’m pretty sure they are really 22momme, because there is a noticeable difference in softness.
Speaking of smooth and soft- that’s what my hair feels like in the morning after sleeping on these pillowcases. I have long bleached hair and A LOT of it (a cut and foil/balayage takes at least 5hrs). My hair is prone to frizz and knots along with breakage. After using silk pillowcases, I no longer had to fight with it in the a.m and fear the brush! Now that I’ve tried out this 22momme one- I’ll never sleep on anything else. I have way less breakage and virtually no frizz after sleeping on these for a week.
These pillowcases are also a MUST for us ladies in our 40s and beyond. While silk won’t get rid of wrinkles, it has certainly prevented morning face creases and has really helped to keep me cool during the night. Even if I get hot, a simple pillow flip will cool me down (the silk doesn’t trap heat, allowing each side to stay cool).
As far as price and softness, Ohmysilk blows more expensive brands out of the water. They are just as soft as other silk brands, are similar colors, and are about 1/3 of the price. However the two main differences are longevity and surface wrinkles. While most decent quality (this one included) silk pillowcases will last quite a while, brand-name pillowcases will probably last twice as long, probably because they are a little thicker. They also will flatten better and will be relatively wrinkle free- these will have a few surface wrinkles no matter what you do. I don’t need perfect pillows on my bed, and like to switch my bedding up every year or so- so these work better for me. For the price, Ohmysilk all day, every day!
These pillow cases are AMAZING QUALITY! I've washed them a few times now, now running or wearing at all. The only complaint I have it that it seems to only be satin on one side of the pillowcase. And for the price I think they should at least be full satin. But I love them regardless 💛
Cutesy for a girl's room. Little girls, tweens, teens and ladies these are soft, silly, wash & dry nice. My only complaint is satin makes me sweaty vs a cotton pillow case. If you like to be warm this is for you!
I purchased a pink pair for myself, love them!! I sleep better and I think I’m not loosing as much hair,I’d never had silk pillowcases, what a treat….. the quality, colors, envelope closure….so reasonably priced!I bought the pink pair for a friend…. the pink color is gorgeous!I know now what to give everyone for Christmas!
Fabulous, my hair loves it
This is the nicest pillowcase!! It is so soft and I slept so well on it my first night and looking forward to many more!It is seriously worth the money!
Gave these a wash before I used them and they work amazing! I love satin pillowcases because they prevent my hair from tangling while I sleep and they also stay cool. The fabric is soft and I like the shine it has to it. The pink colour is perfect. I also like that the cases have extra coverage on the inside so your pillows won't slip/fall out of them. These were worth it and I'm happy they came in a set of 2.
Luxurious & Prevents Drying of Hair & Skin
These are so luxurious. I love how they feel, but only splurged on them after I saw how dramatically a silk bonnet reduced the frizziness in my hair. It made me realize how much moisture my cotton pillow cases were pulling from my hair, so I thought my skin would also benefit from the silk. I was right! My face is noticeably less dry with these.
Thinner vs Thicker Mulberry Silk
The only difference between the thinner & thicker versions of this case is the feel of luxury & that it feels like it will last longer.
I started with the thinner version from this same company, which is a good thing because I would have never spent this much on a pillow case had I not already experienced the benefits of silk. Now I have bought a 2nd of these, thicker, more expensive cases so that if I wash my sheets too late in the day for the pillow case to dry before bed, I don't have to have frizzy hair & dryer facial skin.
I carry the thinner version when I travel so my face isn't dried out, & also use it when exercising on the floor (with no pillow inside) to reduce hair frizziness.
Size & Color
I got the standard size & in pink. I utilize blue light blocking glasses in the evening, as well as amber bulbs in lamps, then these pink pillow cases in bed & am often enjoying sleep like a child. (I'm 64.)
Silk vs Satin
Silk is very different from satin. I don't like satin at all because it is too hot & sticky all year. If I get a little warm in the night, I flip my mulberry silk covered pillow over, & it feels so cool & comfortable. Even if I get very hot, the silk is not sticky or uncomfortable.
Silk is such a strange material. Since it's cool in summer, you'd think it would be cold in winter, but it isn't, even though I let my house get down to 63º in the winter. I love sleeping on this silk pillow case all year.
Quality. Washing & Drying
They are so well made. I wash my bedding weekly. I put these only with other delicate items in the washing machine on Delicate & Quick (40 minute wash) with cold water. I use a mild fragrance free detergent (Biokleen Free & Clear) with a little vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser to remove any excess soap & kill germs. Then they are hung to dry indoors. They dry quicker than cotton too.
I am careful with them - folding the envelope closure back before slowly removing or inserting the pillow. I don't know if these precautions are necessary, but this is a lot of money for something I've come to enjoy too much to want to do without.
I'm writing this in May of 2025. I got my first silk pillow case from other silk brands (the thinner version) in December of 2023 & washed it weekly for a year. It still looks & feels great. December of 2024 I got this thicker version & have washed it weekly.
Since I started using this pillowcase I no longer have large pillow creases on my face when I wake up! I'm 49 and this is a relatively new problem for me. In the past, those pillow creases would go away pretty quickly and were not really a big deal to me. Now it takes hours for them to go away and I wonder if eventually they will become permanent. In addition my hair looks much better in the morning then it did using a regular pillowcase. I take my showers at night so this is a real blessing for me. I am actually getting compliments on my hair after having slept on it a whole night and having done nothing but brush it in the morning.
The pillowcase stays in place well on the bed and doesn't slide all over the place. My standard size pillow is on the large and it's usually hard to get the pillow into the pillowcase. There is no struggle to get my pillow into this pillowcase. Needless to say, I highly recommend this product and couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Update - I washed it in the gentle cycle with cold water today. The tag said to hand wash it but I didn't think there would be a problem. I did take the label's advise and air dried it. The tag said to use a cool iron. I don't know what that means so I set my iron to silk and took a few minutes to iron the silk side. Anyway, it was a success. The pillowcase looks like new. Good night.

If you're just diving into the world of silk for the first time, or just looking for a nice silk pillowcase, then keep reading.
First Off, Let's Talk Momme:
Think of momme as the equivalent of thread count in cotton sheets, the higher momme weight the more silk is used per square inch, making the fabric thicker, smoother, and longer lasting. 19 momme weight is considered good, and is found in standard luxury silk products. It's lightweight, durable, and great for everyday use.
22 momme weight is some of the highest available, it offers the ultimate luxury and it feels noticeably better. It's thicker, and a lot more durable, but it does come with a higher price tag.
The 22 momme weight of the this pillowcase is a balance between affordability and quality.
What Could Be Better:
I noticed that there’s no mention of an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. For anyone unfamiliar with this, it's a certification that ensures a product is free from harmful chemicals, and is safe for sensitive skin. While this product still feels gentle on the skin, having that certification would have been great for health conscious buyers.
Additionally, while the price is reasonable, there are pillowcases with similar features that come with OEKO-TEX certification, but at a slightly higher cost.
Final Thoughts:
At this price, the Ohmysilk 100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcase delivers great value for its 22 momme weight, and its envelope closure design. If you’re just getting started with silk pillowcases and don’t mind the lack of OEKO-TEX certification, this is a solid choice.
I ordered a pink ohmysilk pillow case to cover my travel pillow for an upcoming international trip. I am thrilled with the quality, it’s so soft and the color is a beautiful, calming, pink. I washed the pillowcase in the washing machine on gentle, cold water, and air dried it. It came out perfect! I’m going to order another. Love it!
It arrived in its original packaging and didn't look as if it was a return. This means I do not suspect the flaws I will outline further down were due to rough handling, but rather occured during production. The pillowcase is a lovely shade that works well with my bedding. The envelope closure has a clean, elegant finish and matches the fabric. It's the inside stitching that loses the stars. Inside where the envelope opening is, the stitching is coming undone before I tried putting my down pillow in it.The seams are okay and it seems that it is finishing off the envelope closure installation and corners that were sloppy.I wanted to try a silk cover after using satin for a year and I appreciated that you could buy this as a single cover as I had a fifth pillow and only needed one rather than a pair.It definitely has the lustre and drapiness people talk about with silk vs the sheen and (now that I've seen both) heavier fall of satin.I will live with the around $46 price for this pillowcase and trust that it is simply a QC oversight with the poor quality stitching inside, but it loses a star as it can be repaired with a little care. The colour really is lovely as is the cool, soft feel of the silk. If not for the flaws in the stitching I'd give it a 4 star review.UPDATE. The new one I ordered has slightly better stitching around the envelope closure so upped it to 4 from 3
I'm a guy with a stubble beard sometimes, short hair (faded hairstyle), and I'm a side/back sleeper.
I didn't know what pilling was, until I used this.
Now, the pilling was COMPLETELY on me and my short hair against the fabric, so I can wholeheartedly assure you, if you're a woman (or a guy without stubble-y hair), you'll be fine from any pilling... At least for now... DUNDUN DUUUN... I've only used it for a little under two weeks.
Other than that, the real review starts now.
These are silky smooth to the touch...bad choice of words, lemme rephrase that.
Imagine running spaghetti with tomato sauce through your hands and each strand of delicious spaghetti is delicately layered with extra virgin olive oil with its velvety smoothness gently gliding off your hands, tenderly whispering "ti amo" -I love you-- Pleasant to touch and sleep on (Feels like a soft, smooth glide of wetness).
A lot less friction on your hair too, so ppl with hair loss will definitely see less hair on this pillowcase. I definitely saw a whole lot less hair on this pillowcase vs a cotton, microfiber, and polyester pillowcase where I saw a few strands to a dozen after a night. Some days I don't even see any strand of hair which blew my mind.
- Stays cool, but not uncomfortably cool, so it works in our Canadian winters/cold seasons.
- Face is smoother, but noticeable face oils stain the case. So, wash weekly with a GOOD ph balanced/neutral detergent formulated for silk.
- Washing is easy:
Machine wash cold, delicate cycle in a mesh laundry bag with the pillowcase flipped inside out (optional)
I haven't tried hand washing yet, but the instructions are super easy too (Check the site)
UPDATE: Tried hand-washing and it's super easy.
- Hang dry or lay it flat on a mesh drying rack is what I do.
[COLOUR]
One more thing to note: I have the Pink colour, as the lighter pink was sold out. The picture isn't too accurate.
Mine was not pink to the point of hot pink, but a deeper soft pink colour. A very slight bit darker than a pale blush. A Very pleasant surprise for me as I can still colour coordinate as if I had the lighter pink colour.
....ngl, it shocked me how luxurious and shiny the Pink colour was. Still would have preferred a lighter pink for its softer shade though, personally.
At least I can look more fancy to my sleep paralysis demon now (Back sleeper problems).
Finally, if you're a guy, definitely get a good safety razor and clean shave your face more often so that it's smooth, if you're planning on using this or any silky fabrics.
I've got about 3-5 tiny pills on mine after almost 2 weeks because of my short hairs. So, let your hairs grow out a bit more to avoid this.
*Tip: Their website may have better prices from promotions + free shipping to Canada, so be on the lookout for that to save a bit more.
Orders through their site might take longer though, a week+ unless you pay for faster delivery.
I ordered their Ohmysilk detergent for a good price through promotions and discount codes, and it took 9 days to get here.
